HDR & Brightness Reality

Dolby Vision on a gaming OLED is rare, and here it sits on a panel with the black floor to use it - DisplayHDR 400 True Black is the OLED-specific tier, judged on how dark the darks go rather than how bright the brights get. Peak is 1000 cd/m2 on small highlights. Full-screen output is 250 cd/m2, which is the number that decides your room: excellent with the lights controlled, flattened under a window. Alienware also uses AI-regulated per-pixel current to manage panel wear, which is a more active approach than most.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Why does 165 PPI matter on an OLED? +
Because OLED monitors are usually 31.5-inch 4K panels at around 139 PPI, where text can look soft. Packing the same 4K into 26.5 inches gets you 165 PPI - close to a 27-inch 4K office panel. It is the main reason to choose this over a bigger OLED.
02 Which VRR standards does it support? +
All three: FreeSync Premium Pro, G-Sync Compatible and VESA AdaptiveSync. Whatever GPU you own, variable refresh works properly - which is not true of every panel here.
03 What is AI-regulated current per pixel? +
Alienware's panel-care approach: it adjusts electrical current at pixel level to manage wear, aimed at reducing burn-in risk over time. It does not eliminate the risk from static UI, but it is more active than a simple pixel-refresh cycle.
04 Is there any single-cable option for a laptop? +
No. The USB-C port is downstream at 15 W - it feeds accessories rather than accepting video or supplying laptop power. The hub runs from USB-B upstream.
05 How does it compare with the AW3225QF? +
Same panel family, different shape. The 3225QF is 31.6 inches with a 1700R curve at 139 PPI; this is flat, smaller and much denser at 165 PPI. Both do 240 Hz and Dolby Vision.
