HDR & Brightness Reality

HDR10 with no DisplayHDR tier, 1000:1 contrast and no dimming - there is nothing here. What is mildly interesting is that at 450 cd/m2 peak the panel would clear the DisplayHDR 400 bar, but Dell did not certify it. Either way, this monitor exists for one number - 360 Hz - and everything else was built down to a price around it. Leave HDR off.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Is a 2022 360 Hz panel still competitive? +
On refresh, yes - 360 Hz remains fast, and 1080p makes it achievable. What has moved on is everything around it: newer rivals offer 500 Hz, OLED contrast or USB-C. Buy this on price alone.
02 What makes Fast IPS different? +
It reaches 1 ms grey-to-grey - close to TN speed - while keeping IPS viewing angles and colour. It does not fix IPS contrast, which is still 1000:1 here.
03 Why 24.5 inches rather than 27? +
Field of view. At 24.5 inches the whole screen sits inside your vision without eye movement, which is why it remains the esports standard. It also gives 89 PPI rather than the 81 PPI of 27-inch 1080p.
04 Do I need 360 fps to benefit? +
Largely, yes. Below roughly 240 fps you are leaving the panel's headroom unused, and a cheaper 240 Hz monitor would feel identical. Check what your GPU actually produces in the games you play.
05 What is the slide-out headset hook? +
A small physical hook that pulls out from the top of the stand to hang a headset. It sounds trivial and is one of the more quietly useful things on an esports desk.
