DisplayHDR 400 with a 400 cd/m2 peak that matches typical brightness means there is nothing for HDR to work with - no headroom, no local dimming, 2000:1 contrast. HDR content will display and look flatter than SDR. Aspect ratio. The RD280UA is 3:2 at 3840 x 2560, which shows more lines of code; this is a standard 16:9 4K panel at 31.5 inches. The 320U is wider and better for side-by-side windows, the 280UA taller and better for single-file reading.
02 What does Coding Mode actually change? +
It adjusts contrast and colour to make text and syntax highlighting easier to read for long stretches, and there is a hotkey to toggle it. It is a comfort feature rather than a colour-accuracy one.
03 Does it pivot to portrait? +
The spec sheet is contradictory here - Auto Pivot appears in the smart-features list, but the stand records no pivot. Check with the retailer before buying if portrait matters to you.
04 Is 60 Hz a problem for coding? +
Not for the text itself. You will notice it in mouse movement and scrolling compared with a 120 Hz panel, but for reading and writing code, resolution and coating matter far more than refresh.
