HDR & Brightness Reality

HDR10 appears on the sheet with no DisplayHDR tier and a 300 cd/m2 peak identical to its typical brightness - so there is nothing for HDR to do. This is not a criticism worth dwelling on, because HDR is not remotely what this monitor is about. It is a 15 W, EPEAT Gold office panel with an unusually good stand and a VGA port for machines that still need one. Judge it on that.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Why does a 2026 monitor still have VGA? +
Because plenty of office and industrial machines still output it. D-sub costs almost nothing to include and keeps this monitor compatible with hardware that a modern gaming panel would refuse.
02 Is the stand really that good? +
Genuinely, yes - and it is the reason to buy it. 150 mm of height, +/-180 degrees of swivel, a full pivot and -5 to +35 degrees of tilt is more range than most premium monitors offer. Asus put the budget there instead of the panel.
03 How bad is 81 PPI at 27 inches? +
Noticeable. It is the same density as the BenQ EX270M - 1080p stretched across 27 inches. Text is soft at desk distance. If you read for a living, a 1440p 27-inch is a far better buy.
04 Is this usable for gaming, or strictly an office panel? +
Casually. 120 Hz with 1 ms and Adaptive-Sync is fine, but HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.2 are old standards, and the panel is 8-bit with no real HDR. It is an office monitor that can play.
05 Why 120 Hz on an office panel? +
Because it costs almost nothing now, and it makes scrolling and cursor movement noticeably smoother than 60 Hz. It is one of the better free upgrades in this price bracket.
