HDR & Brightness Reality

DisplayHDR 600 on an office monitor is more meaningful than it sounds, because this panel already runs at 450 cd/m2 for normal work and peaks at 600. Combined with IPS Black contrast of 3000:1 and eight local dimming zones, HDR content looks better here than on most IPS screens - highlights brighten and blacks hold up. But eight zones is a small number, so you will see haloing around bright objects on dark backgrounds. Useful for reviewing HDR content, not for grading it.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is IPS Black and does it matter? +
It is a panel variant that roughly triples the contrast of standard IPS - 3000:1 here versus the usual 1000:1. In practice blacks look properly dark rather than grey, which makes a real difference for text, dark-mode work and photos.
02 Is 4K at 27 inches too small to read? +
At 163 PPI, everything is sharp but tiny at 100%. Most people run 150% scaling, which gives you 1440p-sized elements with 4K sharpness. That is exactly the point of this panel.
03 Can I game on it? +
You can, but it is not built for it. The panel does 120 Hz, but response is 5 ms and Dynamic Refresh Rate is a power-saving feature rather than a gaming VRR implementation.
04 Can I take video calls on it without extra hardware? +
No. There is a 3.5 mm audio out, so you will need headphones or desk speakers for calls.
05 Does it charge a laptop over USB-C? +
The USB-C upstream port on this model is listed as data only, so plan on your laptop's own charger and use the monitor as a hub.
