HDR & Brightness Reality

DisplayHDR 400 True Black is the OLED-specific tier, graded on black level rather than peak output, so the modest number understates the panel - 1,500,000:1 contrast means highlights sit against genuine black. The sheet does not publish a peak brightness figure here, only the 250 cd/m2 typical, which is the usual OLED full-screen limit. As with every QD-OLED in this range, control the room light and it is excellent; sit under a window and it is not.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Does the white finish change anything technically? +
No - the panel and stand are the same as any other finish. What it changes is where the monitor fits: a white OLED sits far more comfortably in a bedroom or living space than the usual black gaming slab.
02 Why does the USB-C only do 15 W? +
It carries video via DP Alt Mode but supplies almost no power - not enough for a laptop. MSI's MPG-series panels have 98 W ports; this MAG-series model does not. Treat it as a video input.
03 Is 110 PPI too coarse? +
For gaming, no. For text-heavy work, yes - 1440p at 26.5 inches is noticeably softer than a 27-inch 4K at 163 PPI. If you also write for a living, that is the trade.
04 How does 3rd Gen QD-OLED compare with 4th Gen? +
4th-gen tandem panels reach 1300 cd/m2 peaks where 3rd-gen sits nearer 1000. Black level, which matters more day to day, is the same. At this price the difference is fair.
05 Does it work with a PS5? +
✓ Yes, properly - two HDMI 2.1 ports at FRL bandwidth plus Console Mode, so a console can send everything it is capable of.
