HDR & Brightness Reality

This is one of the brighter OLED panels available: 1300 cd/m2 peak comes from the newer EL Gen 3 QD-OLED structure, and it is a real step up from the 1000 cd/m2 of the previous generation. Paired with DisplayHDR 500 True Black, bright highlights against dark backgrounds look excellent. The number that keeps it honest is 300 cd/m2 for a full white screen - so a sunlit room still flattens the effect. In controlled light this delivers some of the best HDR you can get on a desktop.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What GPU do I need for 4K at 240 Hz? +
A top-tier one. Hitting 240 fps at 3840 x 2160 is one of the hardest targets in PC gaming - expect to use upscaling and frame generation in most modern titles even with a flagship card. In esports titles it is far more achievable.
02 The USB-C is 15 W - what is it actually for? +
No. The USB-C port carries video via DP Alt Mode but only supplies 15 W, which is not enough to charge a laptop. You will need a separate charger.
03 How is this brighter than other OLEDs? +
It uses Samsung's newer EL Gen 3 QD-OLED with a Penta Tandem structure, which pushes peak brightness to 1300 cd/m2 - up from roughly 1000 on the previous generation. Full-screen brightness is still 300 cd/m2.
04 Is there any built-in audio for a headset-free setup? +
No. There is a 3.5 mm audio out only, so budget for headphones or desk speakers.
05 What does the KVM switch do? +
It lets you connect two computers and one set of peripherals, then switch which machine the keyboard and mouse control. Useful if you keep a work laptop and a gaming PC on the same desk.
