HDR & Brightness Reality

There is no HDR listed on this monitor at all - no DisplayHDR tier, no HDR10 line - and for a business panel that is the right call rather than an omission. Adding an HDR400 badge to a 350 cd/m2 screen would promise something the hardware cannot do. What the panel does offer is 2000:1 contrast, double the usual IPS figure, and 98% DCI-P3 colour. Those are the numbers that matter for the spreadsheets, documents and design reviews this monitor was built for.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Is 76 Hz better than 60 Hz in daily use? +
Slightly. Scrolling and window movement look a little smoother, but it is nothing like the jump to 120 Hz. Treat it as a bonus rather than a reason to buy.
02 What is AH-IPS? +
LG Display's IPS variant, tuned for colour consistency and viewing angles. On a 34-inch curved panel that matters, because you are viewing the edges at an angle - colour shift would be obvious on a lesser panel type.
03 Does the USB-C port charge a laptop? +
No. It is listed as data only at 10 Gbps, so it drives the hub and KVM but not power. You will still need your laptop's own charger.
04 Should a work monitor have HDR anyway? +
Because Dell did not certify it, which is honest at 350 cd/m2. Many rivals would have added a DisplayHDR 400 badge that changes nothing. This is a work monitor and the spec sheet reflects that.
05 How does the KVM compare with the U4025QW? +
The U4025QW has Auto KVM that switches by itself and a much larger 5120 x 2160 panel. This one has a manual KVM on a smaller, cheaper 3440 x 1440 screen - same idea, less automation.
