HDR & Brightness Reality

No HDR is listed for this monitor, and at 250 cd/m2 with 1000:1 contrast that is the correct decision. There would be nothing to gain from a badge here. What the panel is actually built around is comfort and connectivity - flicker-free, low blue light, Eye-Q Check, a 65 W dock and a KVM switch. Those are the features that earn their place on an office desk, and none of them depend on HDR.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Is 65 W enough to charge my laptop? +
For thin-and-light machines, yes. For a workstation laptop under load, no - those want 90-140 W. Check your laptop's adapter rating: if it is 65 W or below, this will keep it charged.
02 Why is the VESA pattern 75 x 75? +
It is a smaller-panel convention, and easy to miss. Most monitor arms are built for 100 x 100 mm, so you may need an adapter plate. Worth checking before you order an arm.
03 What does 6-bit plus FRC mean? +
The panel natively shows 6-bit colour and uses frame rate control to simulate 8-bit, reaching 16.7 million colours. It is the cheapest way to hit that number, and it is why this is not a colour-work monitor.
04 Why does an office monitor have 144 Hz? +
Because panel costs have fallen far enough that it is nearly free to include. It makes scrolling and window movement smoother, and lets you play casually after work - a genuine bonus at this price.
05 Is 250 cd/m2 too dim? +
In a controlled office, it is workable. Next to a window it will feel washed out - most panels now offer 350-400 cd/m2. This is the clearest place MSI saved money.
