HDR & Brightness Reality

The sheet lists HDR and HDR10 with no DisplayHDR tier attached, and that absence tells you what you need to know. Peak brightness is 350 cd/m2 - the same as its typical figure, so there is no headroom at all - and contrast is 1500:1 with an edge-lit backlight and no dimming. HDR content will display and will look flatter than the SDR version. The 163 PPI sharpness and the two HDMI 2.1 ports are what this monitor is for; HDR is not on the list.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Why does two HDMI 2.1 matter at this price? +
Because most mainstream 4K monitors ship with HDMI 2.0, which caps consoles below their full output. Two 2.1 ports means a PS5 and an Xbox can both stay plugged in at 4K120 with no switching.
02 Is 120 Hz with 4 ms a contradiction? +
A bit, yes. The refresh is high enough for console performance modes, but the 4 ms response means fast motion still smears. It is a smooth desktop and console screen rather than a gaming monitor.
03 Are the speakers good enough to skip desk speakers? +
For calls, YouTube and background audio, yes - 2 x 5 W is 10 W, well above the 4 W token drivers many monitors use. For music or films you care about, no.
04 Can I connect a laptop with a single cable? +
No. There is no USB-C at all on this model, so you will need HDMI or DisplayPort plus a separate charger.
05 How does it compare with the U2725QE? +
The UltraSharp is the better panel - IPS Black at 3000:1 contrast, 450 nits, DisplayHDR 600 and a USB-C hub. This one is cheaper, sharper on paper at the same 163 PPI, and has the console ports the UltraSharp lacks.
