The MSI is not unsuitable for gaming, but its simpler 120Hz feature set is aimed more at casual play than competitive performance.

MSI’s 300-nit typical brightness should make the PRO MP251 E2 easier to view in bright rooms, especially near windows or under strong office lighting. The LG is rated at 250 nits, but it counters with native 8-bit colour and HDR10 support. MSI uses 6-bit plus FRC to produce an 8-bit-like colour range, which is acceptable for everyday use but less appealing for users who care about the panel’s native colour depth.

The MSI provides slightly more screen space at 24.5 inches, which can make documents, browser windows and spreadsheets feel a little less confined. However, both monitors use the same 1920 × 1080 resolution. Because the LG screen is smaller, it has slightly higher pixel density and may appear marginally sharper at normal desk distance. The difference is subtle, but it matters more for text than for gaming.

Both models include HDMI, DisplayPort, an audio output and 100 × 100 mm VESA mounting. MSI adds a VGA input and audio input, making it the easier choice for legacy systems or mixed office hardware. Neither stand offers height, swivel or pivot adjustment, so ergonomics are similarly limited.
